Welcome to stereotype season!

Just as with the fawning over moms that happens at Mother’s Day, a similar season happens with dads at Father’s Day. Except where moms are hailed as superheroes perfomring “The World’s Toughest Job,” dads are celebrated a little differently.

The worst Father’s Day Card themes in the aisle this month are pretty much what you’d expect. Lots of dirty jokes, references to swearing, ugly clothes, stinky smells, booze, and power tools.

If you’re a dad you must swear, fart, and fix things. Well, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad, I guess.

But in the midst of all the dad/man stereotyping, there are always rays of sunshine. Those little “A ha Moments” that let you know there is still good in the world. For me, as I wandered the Father’s Day card aisle, it was this one. Recognizing that dads just do it differently. And that’s awesome.

Happy Father’s Day, brothers. May you avoid the ties, underwear, and fart cards. If you need some better ideas, check out ThatSweetGift.com for some more Father’s Day gifts.
