[twitter]Bethenny Frankel has the body of a 4 yr old. She proudly brands herself as a “skinnygirl” and when she donned her daughter’s pyjamas this week and tossed the pic up on Instagram, she proved it.

And.. cue the backlash.

‘This makes me sick to my stomach!!! #eatsomething,’ one commenter wrote.

Another message read: ‘Really don’t think your sending your daughter a good message. She probably thinks wow my mom’s a lot older than me and can fit my clothes, so I must be really big for my age.’

‘Starting a complex early for your daughter,’ another commenter added of the pic.

Another message read: ‘I would just caution doing this as she gets more impressionable. She needs to develop a healthy self-image because she may not have all of your genes…and it won’t be obvious to you, but it will look as though you are competing with her.’  [via Daily Mail]

Now, fine, moms and daughters have often shared clothes, but it’s usually in the teen years, not the preschool ones. I will concede that the humour quotient for parents is at a different level because we’re wrapped up with kids all day and what we find funny and push to the interwebs may be different than “regular people” without young kids.

I’ve got to be on Team Bethenny here. She’s getting the snark because of her Skinnygirl branding, (she also wrote a book called Naturally Thin) but really.. parents do silly things because we want to see our kids laugh. Cue the dads wearing #KidsPJs as inspired by #DishNation.
