[twitter]Parents are constantly trying to explain what it’s like being a parent to those without kids.
It’s one of those things you don’t really get until you have kids. For the most part, the unconditional love, stress, financial burden, joy, sadness, adventure, and confusion is unexplainable. Until you experience having kids, you can’t really know what having a kid is like.
Mike Heenan, At Home Dad Matters, gathered a great collection of one liners and advice from Dads to share with his friend about to have his first child. And while we all did our best to explain, concisely, what being a parent is like and what to expect when you’re expecting, we didn’t quite get there.
If you want to know what being a parent is like, this parenting tweet from James Breakwell (@XplodingUnicorn) sums up exactly what life with a child is like:
To anyone out there thinking about having kids, today my 2 year old threw a temper tantrum because she couldn’t get rid of her shadow.
