[twitter]“Toopy, Toopy. Binoo, Binoo. Toopy! and Binoo!”
I have NO IDEA what this show is about, but my kids love it. Honestly? The randomness of the adventures of Toopy the Rat and his cat, Binoo, border on the same ridiculousness of In The Night Garden.
BUT – the kids love it. The show is always a random collection of events that inspires my kids’ imagination and has them acting out bizarre stories along with the characters on the screen.
I’m not a fan of people bringing kids to concerts, but I do love taking my boys to fun theatre events. They’ve seen Busytown, Yo Gabba Gabba and The Backyardigans in live theatre settings. Each time they come filled with stories of their big night out and enthusiasm for live music and dancing.
Taking your kids to these shows is a great way to build appreciation of live theatre with your children. Patti Caplette, the choreographer and creator of Toopy and Binoo and the Marshmallow Moon, says “If they see characters on stage when they’re 4, it’s probably not such a big leap to take them to see the ballet perform Alice In Wonderland. I have to think we’re definitely perpetuating the love of theatre.”
Toopy and Binoo and The Marshmallow Moon will be in Calgary on September 22 for 3 shows at The Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.
There are a few tickets left for the 1p and 4p performances, a better selection for the 7p evening show. I’ve got a family 4 pack of tickets to that evening show for you and the kidlets to take in.
Simply leave a comment with an explanation of what *you* think Toopy and Binoo is all about and you’re entered to win!
