[twitter]Here we are, halfway through the summer and “I’m bored” is seriously starting to settle in.
To help sharpen up the kids’ tech tools and to give them a goal to shoot for, check out a family video contest sponsored by Just Be Friends™. The A Million Acts of Friendship Video Contest challenges families across the country to create and submit a short video that captures what friendship means to them.
“We all know it isn’t easy keeping children busy and entertained over the summer holidays,” says Just Be Friends™ founder and CEO Janice Taylor. “Many parents are also looking for new and compelling ways to encourage positive social behaviors. The A Million Acts of Friendship Video Contest gets the whole family talking about the value and meaning of friendship while giving the kids something fun and creative to do, and the opportunity to win some incredible prizes!”
The grand prize winner will receive $1,000 cash, a $1,000 donation to their school, an Apple iPad Mini, a backpack full of goodies, a six-month subscription to Just Be Friends™, and the opportunity to have your video featured in a national marketing campaign for Just Be Friends™.
The 15 videos that receive the most “Likes” will go before a jury and be narrowed down to three finalists, from which members of the public will choose first, second and third place winners. For more information, or to submit your video, visit jbfKIDS.com.
The contest closes August 19, 2013 and is open to residents of all Canadian provinces except Quebec. ENTER NOW!

About Just Be Friends™:
Just Be Friends™ is a website where families and children connect, with each other and with their community. It’s a bit like LinkedIn, but more fun, and for the whole family!
Parents create a detailed family profile and Just Be Friends™ matches them up with other families where they live.
The goal of JBF is all about connecting families and building community. In a time when more and more kids face increased negative social behaviours, online and off, Just Be Friends™ empowers parents to play a more active role in their children’s social development, and to unite in friendship and fun! By promoting healthy, positive relationships and bringing like-minded parents and kids together in a safe, online environment, we hope to change lives, one friendship at a time!
Just Be Friends™ is now being beta tested, which means we need help to ensure everything works as it should, and the features and tools on the site truly meet the needs of real families. The more people who register, participate and provide feedback, the more we’ll be able to make the site what people want, and truly connect families and build community. It’s free to register and participate!
