It was late July, 2009. I had just gotten married, we had a second son on the way, and I was invited into one of those meeting where two people are in the room, a brown envelope is slid across the table and a counsellor is waiting in another room.
After nearly 16 years at one radio station, I was asked to move on.
Zacharie was just two years old at the time and we spent the summer together chasing luggage carts at the airport, running in parks, and having sushi dates.
It was this experience that led to the creation of DadCAMP. In August 2009 I got the idea to share my parenting stories in hopes of connecting with other dads who were equally passionate about spending time with their kids.
After having 4 months off work to spend with Zacharie, I was lucky enough to land another gig in Calgary and have spent the past 7 yrs raising my kids in a family friendly community and working at some great radio stations, stretching my broadcasting wings even wider.
Over the past 8 years I’ve met dads from Vancouver to Houston to Sydney to Coeur D’Alene. I found my people to support and inspire me to be the best dad and encourage others to connect for support. I rediscovered a love of radio, and got to re-invent myself for a second act.
