So .. Hatchimals are a thing, eh?
It’s Tamagotchi meets Furby meets ZOMG so hard to find. Everyone’s saying they’re the toy of the holidays this year, but thankfully my boys aren’t on board with it. Phew.
Showcase is promising a Christmas delivery with ongoing shipments. That comes with a higher ticket price, but if you’ve got to have one .. then there’s your answer.
I’m so glad to have dodged that bullet. Christmas can get so crazy with the wants always overpowering the needs and a new collection of toys moving in on top of the items not really played with. The next 2 weekends are going to involve some serious inventory reduction around our house, moving out toys that are too young for them and passing them along to kids who can use them.
I don’t know how you do it around your house, but I really try to reign in all the Christmas excitement and nonsense. I really do. I mostly fail at it, but it’s a work in progress, right?
Last year I wrote about a great thing where you only give your kids 4 gifts. Something they want, something they need, something to wear, and something to read.
How awesome is that!?!? It still leaves a massive loophole with that “want” category, the trick is just limiting it to one thing.
Maybe you can start leaning on them to pick one of these other gifts that are topping the want list for my sons:
Apex x10 RC Drone
Exclusive to Showcase, Apex Drones are next-generation drones that are sure to be on every wish list. Anything RC lights up my sons’ eyes, and so this “group gift” idea for the boys (and me) will be a winner. The Apex X10 RC Drone features auto-hover for easy takeoffs and landings, headless mode for omni-directional flying, and a 100 metre range for an excellent full-featured but affordable drone. Available in-store or ShopAtShowcase.com.
Pokemon Plush
Pokemania has not slowed down in our house. While Pokemon Go peaked and popped in the summer for many, my sons are still excited when we evolve an Eevee into a Vaporeon. Zacharie had to do a presentation for his class and he did it on Pokemon Go, he’s still up at night sharing Google Docs and slides of his favorite pocket monsters with his pals.
Showcase carries the hottest Pokemon plushies and figures, including Pikachu, Mudkip, Torchic, Treecko, Plusle, Minun, Pichu and Espurr. Available in-store or ShopAtShowcase.com.
Shopkins Happy Places
Shopkins, the 2015 and 2016 Girl Toy of the Year, is back with Happy Places.
I hate that label. “Girl Toy Of The Year.” Give me a break. I have two boys who just happen to totally enjoy playing with these little animal faced objects. They’ve settled many arguments in the backseat, killed time in the airport, and brought many smiles. There is no such thing as a girl toy or a boy toy, there are toys. And these ones are great.
Showcase also offers free everyday swaps on extra and duplicate Shopkins so any collector can complete their collection. Available in-store or ShopAtShowcase.com.
